Later on, chopsticks were spread to many East Asian countries. There are more than one appropriate ways of using  chopsticks,  just  with   slight  differences.  Generally,  users  are  required  to  hold  the chopsticks at the distal end while put their fingers at the middle part. The middle finger, thumb and index finger gently hold the chopsticks. The thumb should be next to the nail of the index finger, and the middle finger should be placed between the two chopsticks, with the nail of the ring finger supporting the chopsticks from below. This is also the most common way of using chopsticks.
