Last weekend,the Student Union of our school organized a meaningful activity--visiting the local farm. Through this experience, I have learned much useful knowledge about agriculture.
The farm is far away from our school in a countryside with an area of 2000 square feet. There were many crops like wheat, and it was the harvest time for wheat, so we students actively did many favors to the farmers though we are totally sweated and tired to death. The peasants were very happy and appreciated for our kindness, so they took us to their vegetable gardens, which include many vegetable plants, such as cucumbers, tomatoes, watermelons and so on. They let us to pick any vegetables as we want. How fresh and sweet the tomatoes were! Besides, the farm breeds a great number of sheep,chickens ,geese by modern scientific technique.The farm now is totally different from the one a decade ago. The most excellent thing is that by means of green farming methods, the problem of environment has been effectively alleviated.
This outdoor activity is really impressive and fresh for us. Not only did it get us closer to nature and local peasant, it also enhance our knowledge about modern farm.
