As to me, learning a foreign language is a must in the context of globalization. There is no doubt in saying that it pays to be bilingual. In the course of learning a foreign language, we not only can master the basic knowledge of a foreign language but also can learn something about the language-speaking countries, such as their customs and history, which will broaden our horizons.
在学习一门外语的过程当中，我们应当不忘继承和弘扬自己的母语。语言是相通的，只有在学好母语的基础上，我们才有可能去学好另外一种语言。
In the process of learning a foreign language, we should not forget to inherit and promote our mother language. We should make every endeavor to protect our native dialects since it’s our mother language that reminds us who we are. Languages are interlinked. Only on the basis of having a good master of our mother language can we learn well another language.
The difficulties of learning a foreign language.
In my view, there are various difficulties in the course of learning a foreign language, including spelling, inflection, pronunciation and grammar. As far as I’m concerned, pronunciation is the most difficult part. Learning the correct way to pronounce similar words is often a matter of error and trial, and requires quite a bit of practice and experience with the language.
