How to Eliminate False Advertisement
Advertisements appear everywhere in modern society. However, it is acknowledged that many advertisements involve great deal of false information.
Undoubtedly, false advertisements are extremely harmful to our society. Some advertisements are indeed misleading. They tend to exaggerate the merits of the products while concealing the demerits. Some advertisers even go so far as to fabricate information to promote their products or services. Thus, consumers might be tricked into buying things that are not at all as good as what is advertised. Even worse, serious problems can arise if advertisements cover up the side effects of certain medicines.
Therefore, a campaign should be launched to eliminate false advertisements, which involves the joint efforts of the government and the customers. Government should regulate the contents of advertisements and punish those who endanger the customers'interests. Then, advertisers are prohibited to exaggerate the merits of their products or services. In addition, consumers should be alert to any false advertisements.
