  The Rockefeller family which made its vast fortune inthe oil industry says its multi-million-dollarphilanthropic organization is planning to diversefrom fossil fuels and reinvest in clean energy. FromNew York City Michelle Fleury has more details.

  The Rockefeller family, a historic name here in the United States, and one that made theirmoney and their fortune in the oil industry and the fissile fuel business, has now turned roundand said it's turning its back on its legacy and that its philanthropic fund is now going toactually withdraw all its investments in fossil fuels and trying redirect them towards cleanenergy. It's just one of a number of foundations that have sort of said be part amid this moveand in total withdraw about 50 billion dollars investments in fossil fuels. The idea is to try tomake the paying financial as well as this applied the political pressure.

  The Foreign Ministry in France says a French citizen has been kidnapped in Algeria. Thekidnappers reported to be an al-Qaeda splinter group, known as the Caliphate Soldiers,released a video on Monday which appeared to show a French hostage appealing to the Frenchgovernment for help. From Paris, Lucy Williamson.

  In the video, the hostage flanked by two masked armed men, says he is a mountain guide fromFrance and was kidnapped on Sunday. His captors, he said, are asking France not to intervenein Iraq as President Hollande had said it will. The video has not been verified, but the Frenchgovernment has confirmed it's cooperating with Algerian security forces to secure therelease of a French hostage.

  Turkey's deputy prime minister has warned that the country is struggling to cope with ahumanitarian disaster as Kurdish refugees from Syria flee the advance of the Islamic Statemilitants. Around 130,000 people are now said to have poured across the border into Turkeyover the past three days. The United Nations says it's the largest number of people to have fledSyria in such a short period since the conflict began more than three years ago.

  More schools across Nigeria opened on Monday after the started term was delayed to try toprevent the spread of Ebola. One of the worst affected countries, Sierra Leone, hascompleted a lockdown aimed at curbing Ebola as Will Ross reports.

  The Sierra Leonean authorities say the three-day curfew was a success. Thousands of healthworkers fanned out across the country. They found 130 new Ebola cases and over the weekendmore than 60 bodies were buried. In Nigeria nine people have died from Ebola but thenightmare scenario of the virus spreading has been avoided. In a sign that the worst is over,children in many part of the country headed back to school today. But people are still on highalert so the students and staff queued up to have their temperatures taken outside the schoolgates.

  A court in the United States has found that a Jordan-based bank guilty of providing materialsupport to a terrorist group. A jury in New York decided that Arab bank had provided materialsupport to the Palestinian military group Hamas and must compensate victims of a number ofattacks carried out in Israel and the Palestinian territories. It's the first time a bank has beentried under the US Anti-Terrorism Act. A group of American plaintiffs had accused the bank ofknowingly facilitating payment from Hamas accounts to people including families of suicidebombers.

  A Nepalese man has died after being on hunger strike for 329 days. He was demanding actionagainst those involving in killing his 18-year-old son during the civil war, widely alleged to beinsurgent Maoists. Nanda Prasad Adhikari, who was 56, and his wife Ganga Maya have bothrefused food since last October. She is said to be in a critical condition.

  The Walt Disney stage musical the Lion King has become the most successful show of all time.Staged in theaters around the world since 1997 the Lion King is reported to have earned 6.2billion dollars. The world winning show is based in Disney's 1994 animated film.

  A dispute has broken out between Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands over the ownership ofLonesome George - the Galapagos Giant Tortoise who died in 2012. He was the last knownindividual of his species. The preserved body of Lonesome George is currently on display at amuseum in New York. The Ecuadorian government says that it should be kept in Quito where itwill be properly preserved. But the Galapagos local mayor says Lonesome George was asymbol of the Islands and should return home.
