buckle down
1. 解词释义
Buckle down的意思是“开始认真干”，其英文解释为：To put forth maximum effort towardsomething, especially after not having done so.表示“认真，全力以赴做某事”，在短语的后面的用介词on，即：buckle down on something.

e.g. If you want to get a passing grade this semester, you'll really need to buckle down andstudy hard.
