The Importance of Diligence

　　“Diligence is the mother of good luck，”as the saying goes, which means hard work andperseverance bring about fortune and success. However, it does not mean exerting oneselfall day and night without rest, food or sleep.

　　From my point of view, diligence is of vital significance in one’ s life and career. There aresome reasons as follows. Firstly, industrious spirit is an indispensable quality that makes aperson stand out, as most people are biologically endowed with almost the same IQ. Secondly,diligence leads to accomplishments while laziness must result in failure. An idle man indulgeshimself in creature comforts. That he is doomed to failure is of no doubt. Lastly, diligencehelps remove ignorance, overcome difficulties, and enlighten the mind.

　　Therefore, it can be said that being diligent costs nothing but is worthy of millions ofdollars. All in all, I hold the view that diligence is crucial in one’s life.
