这一组形容词都有“不断的,不停的”的意思。successive接连的,一连串的,一般指一个接一个没有间断,如:successive attempts一个接一个的尝试;其句词形式为succession,in succession一个接一个的。continual一般用于贬义,指一段时间内多次发生、时断时续,中断时间很短而又接连发生,如:Continual practice is necessary to master English. 要掌握英语必须经常不断地练习。continuous,连续不断的,如:a continuous voyage连接不断的航行。constant不断的,经常的,强调始终如一地经常出现,如:constant motion不断的运动。incessant不停的,持续不断的,强调令人厌烦地重复出现,中间有可能有停顿,如:incessant noise持续不断的噪声。
